upset and angry

Its the way she said it. And about ava that i would take her doctors if she was poorly. . They could of been a nicer way to be given the advise x

Maybe try not to focus on the one thing you perceive to be negative, but on the bucketfulls of helpful advice you have received by people who care :)

I think you need to get over any animosity you have and think about the kits. They NEED to see a vet NOW!!

You can focus on someone making one comment that you do not like and moan "its the way she said it" aka it hurt my feelings, and put your animals first and take them to a vet, because the very bottom line is - thats what they need, and you know that.

I also want to say that I read Jane's post with an entirely different tone to the way you seem to have interpreted it; I don't think it was said with malice but it was just an attempt to illustrate the urgency of the situation by comparing it to your dd being ill.

I appreciate that it's very hard to understand the tone of posts without body language etc but I do hope that you will be able to step back at some point and read Jane's post in the way I'm sure it was intended.

i think you are angry at yourself because you made the mistake of leaving your daughter with the kits. your pets, your responsibility, not janes fault, she offered good advice there, and you know they should have been taken to the vets asap. if you have pets you are responsible for them, whatever the cost. you shouldn't just leave them. they should be checked out even if they seem ok, you never know what damage could have been done. disgraceful.

Dont be upset and angry. A four year old cant really be held responsible for being a bit overzealous with little baby animals. Children are naturally curious and not always aware of their strength. Please do not blame your child.

But remember, kids are like dogs, do not leave them with animals, you never know whats going to happen, it only takes one mistake to be a regret.

Kits are fragile and their bones are soft and can be broken easily. Even if they appear to now be fine this may not be the case. As I'm sure you know, rabbits are prey animals and will hide pain.

If you suspect your rabbits have been injured - no matter what the circumstances - then the ONLY way to determine this and hopefully treat their injuries is to see a vet ASAP. They could still be in pain and have injuries that will worsen overnight. The shock of any rough handling could also kill them.

I agree with this. I read a nasty comment on facebook about some of the people on RU and I think that these personal attacks would have been made on any thread and it was just a case of waiting for the right opportunity, which this obviously was.
I think if you have something you are unhappy about something that has been said then you need to send a pm and explain why you are hurt/ offended rather than doing it on a thread that should be about your kits.

Zoelou you were right to seek advise about your kits and I agree with KarenM that you need to take a step back and read Janes post again.

I hope that your buns are ok as I genuinely think you have there best interests at heart otherwise you wouldn't be here in the first place. We all need to stick together as we are all here for the same reason.

I put a thread up they seem a lot betteR. Walking again. Wonder what she did to them. Maybe she stunned them. Thank you for asking x x

Maybe she just frightened them in some way? :?
Glad theyre ok anyway, although Id still advise a vet visit today to make sure

Glad they're ok this morning. I would probably still pop them down to the vets to check they're ok though :) As someone else has said, rabbits are prey animals so hide pain very well.

I'm very late to this one but glad to see the little ones seem ok. We all know that kids and animals can be tricky to juggle and we learn lessons from both every day. Personally I only have animals - I couldn't manage both
hope everyone is ok

To jane. They have been back in the cage for over an hour! Yes i would take my daughter to the doctors. I have rang emergency they want 100 to look at them! I am sorry but you seem to judge me quite a lot how i look after my rabbits! Are you not the one with poorly rabbits all the time in small enclosures.you leave yours to suffer!

I didn't want to say this but your the one with poorly rabbits all the time

£100 is nothing to save the life of a rabbit. Jane does everything she possibly can for her rabbits, all her money goes on them and she goes without. Jane would never let two unneutered rabbits play together...then for one the get 'accidentally pregnant' If you can't afford £100 to save the lives of your kits then you really shouldn't have bunnies. My Lola cost me £700 in 6 days, but I paid it? I'm a student not rich and will be in debt after leaving uni, but my bunnies come first.

Don't make a thread if you're unwilling to take action to save the lives of innocents, afterall it's your fault they're in this world.

Hope the kits are ok :) Vets is always a good idea when animals have had some rough and tumble! It happens... it's bound to... Children and animals are always a bit rough with eachother! God knows my Dexter (buck dutch) will give Phoebe (my 2 year old) a good old grunt if she strokes him a bit too heavy handed!

I'm sure is Ava is sorry this morning, guess it just takes a while to teach children to be super duper careful :) And at least none of the kits seems too badly hurt!

Good luck if you get them to the vets! Would love to see some pics at some point too :D

Glad they seem to be better. I would agree though that you should still take them to the vets to get checked over. I have a 4 year old son who is great with our animals but for their sake and his i don't tend to leave him on his own with them as accidents can and do happen.
If you are struggling for money to pay for the vet visit - perhaps you could call them up and ask if they would let you pay the bill up? Our vet is very understanding and allows us to pay bills week by week if needs be.
