upset and angry

OK folks that's enough fighting. I don't want to lock this thread when these kits obviously need help, but I will do if any more personal comments are made either way. Please lets try and help these rabbits instead of squabbling.

I'm sorry but you're bang out of order. I appreciate that you are upset regarding the kits, but throwing insults at another member will not help the situation.

I too, think the kits should see a vet tonight. I appreciate that it is expensive but that's what comes with owning animals.

If she has squeezed them, they could have internal injuries or fractures and leaving them all night without seeing a vet 'could' lead to a slow and painful death.

Accidents happen but what you do to rectify them is what's important.

Please don't delay and get them seen

YOu are not being judged in this thread, we are simply telling you that the kits need to be seen by a vet tonight.

Absolutely right.

You have not been judged. It would seem that you are over reacting or reacting badly to comments which were made in an attempt to help your kits and were not personal or rude - unlike the ones you made.

Please get your kits to a vet TONIGHT.

Look, everyone just wants to help:)
You have not been judged in any way, however, you did harshly judge another member and it was good of you to apologise:)

In regards to the little kits, I think you said you were taking them to the vet tomorrow morning? That's better than nothing although they shoulld probably be seen tonight:) Just keep a VERY close eye on them tonight and if they show any signs of deterioating, I would get them to the emergency vets straight away.

Hope they're better soon:)

To jane. They have been back in the cage for over an hour! Yes i would take my daughter to the doctors. I have rang emergency they want 100 to look at them! I am sorry but you seem to judge me quite a lot how i look after my rabbits! Are you not the one with poorly rabbits all the time in small enclosures.you leave yours to suffer!

I didn't want to say this but your the one with poorly rabbits all the time

 Many of Jane's rabbits are elderly so yes she is going to have poorly ones!

Please get them to a vet. I know it's cold and I know it's expensive but it really sounds necessary. How old are the kits?

I'm sorry if you feel personally attacked but there have been too many threads lately when people 'flounce' off if they don't like what they hear.

The best part about a forum like this that has a large number of members, is that you get a wide range of views and opinions.

As the forum is predominantly about rabbit welfare, members will naturally advise of the best course of action for the animal.

In this situation, the best course of action is to take the kits to the vets as a matter of urgency.

It may not be the best course of action for your bank balance but that's unfortunate I'm afraid

My mouth just dropped open as I read this thread.

Given everything you have said, its vital your kits see a vet tonight. For their welfare.

I'm totally gobsmacked at the unnecessary attack on Jane though. Actually literally had my mouth hanging open.

I've noticed that many people come to RU looking for advice, but when they don't get told what they want to hear they end up offended. People here really do care about bunnies which is why they will often advise an owner to do something painful/expensive/labour-intensive not to be mean, but to help the buns in question. If Jane's post was strongly worded it's because what you have described sounds like an urgent situation. :)

*applauds* Nicely put.

People are just trying to help you see that the kits need to be seen urgently - they could easily have injuries you can't see and therefore could be suffering a great deal. I'm afraid owning pets can never be done on the cheap. I do not think people have judged you - you asked for their advice on a horrible situation and they said what they thought you should do in the best interests of your kits. It is, of course, your choice as to what forum you subscribe to.

Saw this after I had posted. You are absolutely right in everything you say.

So, your child has injured baby kits in your care, you wont take them to the vet, so instead attack another member who cares for elderly and unwell rabbits?

I didnt realise people/animals only got sick if you didnt look after them  All animals get unwell, its what you do when that happens that counts.

If you dont want to take them to the vet and be responsible, we cant make you. But dont blame other people, its ridiculous.

Yes they will want £100 to look at them its out of hours, thats life. at the end of the say, your pets have become injured in your care, accidental or whatever and you dont want to take them to the vet, thats nobody elses responsiblity but your own.

Will they be ok?

To answer your own question in your first post, nobody knows for sure and if you are at all concerned then I would suggest an emergency vet visit asap.

I would love to just say "Yes, they'll be fine I'm sure" as it seems that's all you wanted to hear, but without knowing what happened then it's impossible to be sure.
