• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Cookie doesnt eat

Hello to everyone,
Cookie is not eating, all of a sudden he stopped eating tonight. He doesn't even eat his favorite treats, he hasn't even eaten a banana. I don't know what happened for a moment but his body position seems comfortable and his poops today seem normal. I don't suspect GI stasis. I suspect he probably has a dental problem. He seems a little sluggish/silence this evening all of a sudden but he was very energetic all day long, it happened suddenly. Cookie had a tooth problem since spring but the vet didn't do anything because it was too small. Last month, this happened again but it was still too small, the vet didn't do anything, Cookie got better. Now I'm thinking about the tooth problem again. I'm also thinking of going to the vet in the morning. What do you think?

Strangely enough Cookie wants to eat the things I give him pellers, but he doesn't eat them, he just sniffs them and leaves them. He wants to eat but he smells it and won't eat. But he eats hay. I couldn't understand this situation. Why is he doing this, he smells everything in my hand and doesn't eat but eats hay??

Pellets require a different chewing motion than hay. It is good he is still eating and pooping, yet that may change. Yes, you should advise vet and perhaps schedule dental.
Sending lots of positive vibes for you and Cookie.

Thank you so much dear. Cookie is fine. I think it's a false alarm again, I've been very ill for a while now, I think it's because of the smell of the different medicine I took yesterday that's acting like this. Now he is completely fixed thank Allah. How are you? I haven't been able to log in to the forum for a long time because of my own problems. How is your health and the health of your family? ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

I'm glad Cookie is well again ๐Ÿ™‚ sometimes bunnies are funny like that, he maybe had a little wind that passed.

Haha I had tension at night, I could barely sleep because of fear. I woke up in the morning wondering if Cookie was dead ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ, look at my level of drama queen ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
