• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Cookie unknown status

Oh blimey, I didn’t know you lived so far away from Istanbul now!

Cookie might have tummy pain due to eating too many Strawberries yesterday. Definitely don’t give him Olive Oil. If he’s eating veg then serving them wet is a great idea to keep his hydration up. Also, encourage him to eat hay. Fibre is what will help his GI tract the most. Without stressing him out try to get him to hop about every couple of hours. IT will help his gut motility and to disperse any build up of gas.

Can you obtain anything similar to Fibreplex in Turkey ?

I am on the fence as to the benefits of giving it but it won’t do any harm. I just did a quick online search, but couldnt find anything.
Thank Allah Cookie is completely back to normal today, comfortable today and his poops are fine. I didn't give him olive oil, I used fibreflex when I was in the Netherlands but unfortunately it is not sold here. But this vet thing is really going to drive me crazy, I'm glad I have you all. 💜

I do not give fruit to my rabbits because I had a couple bunnies get gassy tummies in the past. I know others on RU do and never have issues.
I am glad you decided not to give oil.
Sending you and Cookie lots of positive vibes.
I think you are right, I can't stand it when he begs but I think it is better not to give it, maybe I won't give it anymore either, thank you very much for your support 💜💜💜

Glad Cookie is feeling better
Thank you 💜
Sending vibes for cookie and I'm so pleased to read your positive update. Xx
