hhhmmmmm in fact i may be able to do it sooner.......... :? are there any dates not good for you???? ill give you a ring tomorow romy, if i dont its cos ive lost your number.
ill give you a ring aswell alice...................if i dont its cos ive lost your number also   and ill pm you mine.

I am so sorry to hear that you can't manage her Romy. I quite understand as Strawberry is just about impossible for me to hold on my own, let alone do anything to him. I am very glad he doesn't have a dirty bum. And Bridget may even be bigger than he is :?

Hi everyone, thanks so much for all your messages. You're really great people. Sorry for my late reply but I'm really lousey with the flu at the mo and trying to sleep it off with the help of overdosing on neuofen and nightnurse - god bless the person who invented nightnurse is all i can say!!

Thank you bunnylove for you generous offer of taking bridget until she gets slimmer but to be honest I couldn't do that. My fear is that even when she does manage to get her weight down her dewlap is so big that she still may not be able to clean herself in which case i would still not be able to give her the care she needs. I would never want to leave anyone so kind with a rabbit they took in good faith for temporary and ended up trying to rehome it. I couldn't do that to you and never ever to Bridget. Bridget deserves a forever home not to be pushed pillar to post. I do feel so awful that I can't keep her but I know it would be thinking of myself and selfish to keep her. Even if someone could come to mine a couple of times a week it would proably be needed for several years and i can't impose or expect that of anyone.

Good news as i have had a couple of people interested in taking bridget as a girlfriend for their male giant so fingers crossed. if that doesn't work out I promise to help organise her to go back to Alice.

Thanks again everyone and sorry xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Alice, if anything comes through with the two possible homes would you like to talk with them on the phone before any decision is made? please let me know as Bridget's welfare is my main concern and if there is anything you want me to ask that I may not think of just let me know.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

romy you are most certainly welcome, i was just assuming that when she was a bit slimmer she could have had the op and that would have most possible reduced the dewlap!! and i would have probably bunnynapped her anyway!!!!

well good luck with the poss new home, and possible the new search for a girlly for darcy!!

take care

Eve x

Awww Romy - I admire you so much for being able to put Bridget's welfare and well-being first -even though it must be hurting you so much.
I could not handle a bun that big by myself  John and I have to do the larger buns between us - and it's still a heck of a job
If I had the room I would have her like a shot - she is sooooo big and beautiful
I hope that one of the homes does come along and that she has a wonderful life.
You get better soon.

Aaaww its great that you have had some interest in her already.. i hope one of the homes turns out to be a fab forever home for her.
Well done Romy.. you have cared sooo much for Bridget and i know it must have taken lots of courage to post this and to look for a new home for her.
I do hope you are feeling better soon.. there are some horrible bugs going around.

yeah get well soon Romy, and as I said befre sorry if I put you on the spot with my suggestion

good luck in rehoming Bridget

Hope it all works out for Bridget...such a difficult decision for you but as you can see from your replies...everyone is thinking of you as I am. Take care Romy and get better soon

hi romy, ive lost my phone  ..................well its not actually lost, ive just left it somewhere, hopefully at work, so dumb ass here cant ring you tonight, i did get your txt and saved your number so as soon as i get my hands on it ill give you a bell. im afraid not going to be able to pick her up this weekend, but i think i will be able to sometime next week......maybe tuesday.

me again. . i wouldnt be able to take her straight up to alices, but could keep her here for a few days until i get the time. i may not be able to take her up until the 16th. if i can sooner i will, but if i cant until the 16th would this be a problem, or am i better picking her up nearer the time???

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh another bunny for me to cuddle. :D

Awwww I'm so sorry you're going through this, Romy. I know how you're feeling, sadly. :(

I think you were really brave by telling us and rehoming her through here rather than taking her to a rescue and disappearing on us. Coz that's a perfectly simple way of doing it, but you've shown that you have integrity and bravery by coming here...

*hugs* to you, I'm sorry you're feeling lousy in all these ways...:(

Awww Romy *hugs*. You are not having a good couple of week huh :(. I hope Bridget finds a lovely home who can take care of that bottom   , she is a lovely girl so I am sure she will.
Get better from that flu bug and then we'll all help you find a lassy who is a bit easier for a gal on her own to take care of :D .
Feel better soon.
*snuggles from Ben and Flo*

Thanks for all your support everyone. I do feel bad that I took on more than I could handle with Bridget, she is such a lovely bun and its no way her fault at all. Its made me even more strident to make sure I never let Darcy get overweight as it really is cruelty to the rabbit. :( If only i was attractive enought to have slave..cough..I mean boyfriend to help clean her botty.

There is a lovely couple coming to see Bridget on Sunday so fingers crossed. They have a giant boy who has the run of their house and garden so could be a very nice suitor for young Bridget! They just lost their giant girl to cancer  so they really do sound like they have true bunny hearts to love Bridget with! Fingers crossed! xxxx :)

Aaawww I hope they fall in love with Bridget.. sounds an ideal new home :D
And as for you.. hey you are very very pretty! I know what you mean tho.. i cant find a man either.. i find it hard to meet people.. where do u go eh  My friend lives in london and she is going to try speed dating next week

sorry to hear this Romy, sounds pretty promising of a new home for Bridget :) hope your feeling better :)

Awwwww...I'm so sorry! I will keep my fingers crossed and i really do hope bridget can find her forever home!! tons of ((((( hugs and love)))))
from me and my buns!!

bridget

Romy, I have the offer of 2 perfect homes for Bridget!! I know this sounds awful but homes for a lovely pedigree like Bridget are not hard to find. The first is a summer house, with free range garden until she loses weight, and then they will get her neutered and find a chap, the second is similar but in a conservatory, free range garden, neutered boyfriend (giant) awaiting. Both homes have experienced specialist rabbit vets on the sidelines. If Baza is able to get her to 0xford both families are more than willing to travel to pick her up. And my husband is saying 'please let us have her back - she is perfect', so maybe 3 homes? No I have told him perfect buns can be homed!!!! Alice

PS Have left message on your answerphone.

Hia Alice!! Sorry just read your post! Bridget has been homed already!

The lovely Helen & Jules came and met her today and have only not long just left with her. They have a lovely house in Northampton and have always kept giant buns (and smaller). They only just lost their beloved Mischief to cancer and their mourning giant boy is needing a new girlyfriend.

They understand about having to clean her and after showing them pics of her when she first arrived at my home they both proclaimed she has definately lost weight and her coat is much more thicker and shiner!! So hopefully it won't be too long before she can get speyed and back to full health!!

I had to keep a close eye on Helen though as she was getting very attached to my Darcy!!

Thanks to everyone for all your support, couldn't have gone through it without you all!!
