Lying breeders U/D post 31

Surely you have a much better chance of bonding your current boy with a girl than with another boy rabbit??

Lots of people on this forum have said they have boy/boy pairs and it works fine. I know from the bondings I have done that their was either an instant like or dislike. Of course I could take him and the girl. I so hate decisions.

There is one for sale on preloved from another breeder where I live which I think is lovely but not ready for another rabbit yet but will be in a month or so, this is her, they are asking £20.00 for her but shes been on a while now.:love:

This is the one molly35 is on about, not a very good pic though as its very small.

a 2 male bond *can* be harder than male/female and i'd really be concerned about why she's suddenly gone from £45 to free without hesitation. There could be health reasons, certainly.

Sorry to say i dont think i'd be getting this lad, however sad it may be.

From what I gather from her website doesnt seem she has a german lop doe and to be honest people up here tend to go for dwarf/mini lops and lionheads so maybe he is just surplus to requirements. And there are so many free rabbits I can't imagine anyone wanting to pay £45 for a large 2 year old as he will need a lot of space.

Ultimately, its up to you.

But you asked our opionions and there they are :)

Yes at present I have a hutch to keep him separate, I can get him neutered and vacc'd no problem but couldn't really afford any long term health issues. I have got my eye on a gorgeous girl at a rescue down south my only concern being my boy and her don't bond hence the reason I was looking at this male being a lot nearer.

I didn't realise they were both boys! Definitely go for the girl, the breeder boy would still be hormonal for a couple of months after neutering and introducing two boys in that situations sounds like a bad idea to me...

Ideally if it were me in that position I'd want him checked by a vet before committing to giving him a home especially if you think you'll struggle to pay for treatment for ongoing issues.

Is there a way to block yourself from logging onto websites so I can't look at preloved etc again??????? Aaaarrrgghghhhhhhghhahgh. Okay my mind is made up, I am going to adopt the beautiful girl from down south and just keep my fingers crossed that they bond and block the other from my mind ,........now what was I talking about

The brass neck of some people

the lop has been playing on my mind and decided to do a bit of surfing to find out about german lops and guess what - the picture she has of him is actually a 'stock picture' of a lop in wales i think it was so its not even her bun!!!!

Welcome to the world of the internet.

Digital lies.

that happened to me once....i was going to buy a golden retriever ( be4 i got my rabbits about 2 yrs or so ago) and i found one i really loved so emailed the owner and everything...i started doing my reserch and found the exact same dog on pictures on a show dog website.
the people that were going to sell me the dog were scammers and luckily i didnt hand over any money...so be carefull .
there are alot of little liers out there

The rabbit is for free but why not just show a real pic. I always think the best of people probably cause i'm no good at lying. Far too honest for my own good.

I saw alot of her rabbits advertised i nearly messaged her giving the link to this forum so she could find good homes for her rabbits  Im glad i didnt now!

Why are you surprised, sadly this is what breeders do all the time, I have know breeders lie to rescues and pretend not to be breeders, they are dispicable when they do this

Why not go to a rescue and get a bunny that has been quaranteened, neutered and vaccinated, it's much safer

I've already got 3 rescue buns it was just I saw his pic - but of course it wasn't really his pic - and went all mushy and as he was near thought we could try an intro to see if it looked promising. All of my buns have come to live with me and to be perfectly honest I probably wouldn't have chosen them myself - but I love them all - so for once thought I would chose a bun I liked looks wise. And the rescue bun I do like is quite a distance away and I'm just worried that that the bond wouldn't work.

I'm not really surprised by this behaviour more like disappointed that people can lie so easily.
