Lying breeders U/D post 31

you know what breeder or not (they are not all bad) if you want this rabbit go and get it, it dont matter it is not in a rescue, because you are taking it out of a situation were it may not be getting enough love and bringing it to a place were it will, and i do believe if you see a animal and fall in love it dont matter were it comes from rescue, breeder or petshop (thats just my opionion) i have rescue rabbits and i have thrianta i got from a breeder, he looked after his rabbits they had big cages and was handled daily he has won many best in shows and yes he breeds his rabbits but they are still exellent bunnies from a good line of heathy rabbits which he can trace back all there family history, he didnt dump and babies or adults they was all friendly, i know this is not always the case but every one could neglect bunnies not just breeders and pet shops, so if you want this rabbit get it, you will be helping him if this person is not looking after them

The woman has just sent me a real pic of the rabbit and he is gorgeous....oh damn and blast.

Typical breeders trick, lets taunt the poor sucker with feelings and that how breeders treat their punters sadly, if you want to take this rabbit then you will be supporting people like this

There are loads more like this but I won't bore you with them all and yes ALL breeders are bad and they don't care

Without taking into account where the rabbits are coming from I think a male-female pairing is the most likely to succeed anyway. :) I agree with what Snowy is saying to be honest, people like this probably shouldn't be encouraged and by taking one rabbit from them it leaves them free to fill its space with another that will be similarly valued (i.e. not valued at all by the looks of it).

Of course ultimately it's your decision.

the lop has been playing on my mind and decided to do a bit of surfing to find out about german lops and guess what - the picture she has of him is actually a 'stock picture' of a lop in wales i think it was so its not even her bun!!!!

Eugh - what a :censored: That's just ridiculous!

I agree with this every animal deserves a good home wether they come from rescue, breeder or petshop. My Princess i found her on Preloved and i wanted her straight away she did come from a breeder but was rehomed because she killed her 2 litters but judging by pictures she was very spoilt  and all her rabbits were kept in good sized hutches with run time during the day :) she bonded with my boy Misty straight away :D

I doubt whether anyone is disputing the fact that all pet animals deserve a good home but sadly by dealing with people like the person who posted the add then the problem of bad breeders is never ever going to go away. A case of looking at the bigger picture if you will. :(

I know why people suggest rescue rabbits first i also suggest them when someone i know says they want a cat/dog/rabbit/Guinea pig etc. because i know we need to rescue to make room for more unwanted rabbits. I just think sometimes the forum can be a little unfair towards people when they say ive fallen for a rabbit in pets @ home but i understand we cant save them all infact the situation of neglected and unwanted animals will only increase :(

Molly why dont you get both and bond a trio ;)

Yes breeding for money is bad
Yes she is trying to get shut of old stock she has no use for
Yes you shouldn't help them by taking their stock

but

what about that poor bun - yes I know there are thousands - if i can take him, neuter him and rehome him somewhere nice ...

It just breaks my heart to think where he will end up and the thousands of others just like him

Anyway I am still waiting for reply re rescue bun I want

Oh and apparently if it is the same woman she was visited by the RSPCA a couple of years ago

I think wherever you get one from - its a rescue, unless is already has a loving home. I've fallen for a bun in P@H, she's been in there for weeks and I want to buy her so so much.

not read whole thread why not arrange to see the bun at HERS check the place out, this bun is playing on your mind anyway,

while i dont agree with the breeders methods, we are hardly gonna shoot you down if you do decide to get the bun,
check her place out if you dont like it report her

I can see you getting the bun anyways mainly because you keep asking us to tell you no, we cannot tell you what to do, you know how this forum is a rescue site, but we are not all attack attack attack

if you can afford this buns care and you ask the correct questions to the breeder i see you getting him,

i just insist on home checking her

Just to clarify my position which is not attack attack attack - whilst I disapprove of breeders mainly because of the conditions they provide and the refusal to see the bigger picture, I don't hold it against the animals - if he is surplus to requirements he is in danger, he is as deserving as any other rabbit of a nice loving home, it's not his fault that he has been used as a breeding buck.

Here here, no one is going to have a go at you for going for the bunny or refuse to give advice etc.:)
