  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vibes Please

For my little Stephen who is currently in the car with me on the way to the emergency vet because he stopped eating late last night and is cold and lethargic. I'm really scared.

Oh no :(
Sending megavibes for Stephen and ((((((((huge hugs)))))) for you. Safe journey and I hope he will be okay. xxxxxxx

Good grief
I didn't think anyone did that anymore. :( I hope Stephen isn't traumatised. :(

He's still at the vets. He's not eaten solid food, no water, no hay. He's eating very small amounts of Critical Care when he's being syringe fed but it's 0.5-1ml at a time. He's still quite cold and not moving around much. They have given him some painkillers and "anti-bloat" meds (didn't tell me what). They've told me to ring at 20:00 before I finish work because I might be able to take him home. I really do not trust this vet at all. What sort of :censored: trances a rabbit to look at their teeth? I was fuming, absolutely fuming. He was terrified.
