Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Pepper at vets again :(

This is such great news mike. I’m really really happy for you and so relieved that pepper is presenting as improving. He has been in my thoughts all night and all morning so I’m delighted for you. I hope he continues to improve strongly.

Well done beautiful boykin  Hope you get more good news later. He's made of strong stuff, your lad

thank you all for your kind support, it has really helped.

Pepper is home. I picked him up at 2pm with a selection of meds.
he seemed 'ok' but quite quiet.
i have him in a fenced off area in the house and left him to settle for a while with plenty of noms but by 5pm he hadn't eaten anything. as 5pm was first meds dose time (Epremid) i gave him his meds & mixed up some recovery stuff and was able to get a little into him. up until about 1/2 hr ago still no eating so was starting to get a little worried but i can now hear him munching on summat (i am on a sofa about 1metre away from him). i don't want to stress him so i'm gonna just keep listening and come next med time at 11pm check on what he's eaten (& do a poop count) & make a decision on whether of not to give him some more recovery feed.
the vets have said to call if needed and he is to go back on Monday for a checkup.

I’m glad he’s home  will he eat recovery food or pellet mush from a saucer? Sometimes those pouch baby foods in a rabbit safe fruit or veg help to encourage them. Maybe some brambles, herbs, grass or dandelion leaves might help tempt him. Topping up the vibes xx

So pleased he is home Mike, and good that you heard some nibbling going on. Hope he continues to improve, and hope you have a better nights sleep xx

thank you

the nurses had got him a couple of those pouch baby foods so he has some apple&mango and apple&pear squeezed out onto a side plate.
he also has carrot, corn on the cob, sweetheart cabbage & pellets.
and i picked him some grass.

but good shout on offering some recovery mixed up & on a saucer. i will give it a try.

i can hear some more munching rn. sounds like carrot

i took the nurses a bunch of flowers as a thank you when i picked him up. they are very kind.

I'm really pleased Pepper's home and it's good that he's starting to eat something. I really recommend getting some dandelion leaves for him if you can. When my bond have been poorly that's often the first and only thing they've really had any enthusiasm for.

Incidentally, has Tulip given him a clip round the ear for scaring her yet?

They are lovely aren't they.

I'm so glad he's home and doing well. Those baby pouches are awesome for hiding meds [emoji16]

Sending vibes for continued munching and poops x
