  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Another vet visit - more bad news

I previously went to Lucas but had an awful experience there with my dog. Now I go to Highcroft in Whitchurch and visit either Polly or Jemma.

They are both fantastic and I would always recommend them - they have both got to know Woody very well and I like to think they are quite fond of him :thumb:

Really? Wow I've only ever heard excellent things about Lucas vets. I used travel over there especially but I do live in Whitchurch so it's just easier now as they are all highcroft. I will bare in minds those vet names :thumb: I'm so glad it wasn't bad news for woody, they are such a worry aren't they

Exactly this! I think they are rude as well and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible! They always pressure me into spending money i dont need to and make me feel like a bad owner if i don't :( I do like polly a lot though.

I'm not sure if it's opposite frankie and bunny's, I think yes? It's much cheaper and they seem really nice, they gave me a tour all round when I went in. For an idea on price differences I was quoted £180 to have my dog neutered at highcroft, at £94 at The Vet!

That's a big difference! :thumb:

Yeah I was pretty traumatised by what happened so very rarely go there now. And if I do, I will only see particular vets.

But I have found Polly & Jemma absolutely incredible at Highcroft, Whitchurch.
