Eddie-U/D 16th September

Remember that just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

I'm sure, given Eddies medical history, he'd far rather spend the rest of his days being looked after by his mum in the place he loves, rather than enduring what could be a difficult surgery with no good guaranteed outcome.

Hope he is ok.

Sorry, been out today so a bit late on the uptake. Thinking of you and Eddie, and his friend Lizzie. I just noticed the pictures of them both today. Sorry this is such a tough time for you.

Glad Eddie is still with you and that C believes his quality of life is still good and he can continue to enjoy living with you and his wife, and sitting in his pot. One of my buns, Sue, will have to go to the Bridge soon, but all the time she is enjoying her noms, her partner and her life in general and is in no real pain, I will continue to spoil her. I hope that as soon as she has had enough she will let me know. Hopefully, Eddie will do the same with you.

I sometimes think it's harder for us Bunny Mummies (and Daddies) than it is for our fur children. We stress and worry about them - and they just get on with their lives!!!

I agree with BB Mommy - but don't rush into your decision he's bound to have off days now and again. Just monitor how frequently/severe they are.

Wish I had a magic wand though.

Big hugs to you both.

We are back

C is now of the opinion that as well as all his other problems Eddie probably has a tumour in his chest effecting the blood supply to his head. To diagnose exactly what is going on Eddie would need a GA and if a tumour were to be found then he'd require specialist surgery.

C says that Eddie would need to be seen by a specialist and even if he was referred she said that she doubted any Vet would put a 6-7 year old Rabbit through surgery, especially given all Eddie's other problems.

I hope C was not saying that to make me feel better about not being able to afford a referral. I feel I am failing Eddie but I just dont have the funds which would be several hundred pounds

C says that as Eddie is still enjoying life and not suffering (despite how he looks when his eyes bulge, they dont always :?) we just keep him on his meds and take things one day at a time. As soon as he gives me the slightest sign that he is not happy or that he has any pain he will be helped to The Bridge.

Sorry if this post is a bit garbled but as well as poor Eddie's problems, this morning I have received some very distressing news on a personal issue so I am in rather a mess

This sounds like the right thing to do Jane, regardless of funds....sadly no bunny is immortal and we shouldn't try to make them so, it's quality of life that's important not length. I'm sure Eddie would be much happier at home with you than being hauled off to a different vet and going through major surgery.

I'm sorry you've had other bad news too, you will be in my thoughts xx

Just wanted to leave some warm thoughts and hugs. Eddie is a dreamboat and like others have said, him living with you in comfort and surrounded by love is better than getting stressed by surgery.

Eddie's eyes are less bulging today and within himself he is a happy Bunny :)

I'm glad to se Eddie is fine today. Animals sometimes are happier to live than we think. He's a lucky bun to have you.

So glad that Eddie is still with you and that he's feeling a little better today. :)

He is a very handsome lad
