  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Aoife- U/D 17th Sept 2023- She’s Gone :-(

I'm glad to see Aoife is doing a bit better. I do wonder if inflammation may play a part in seizure activity, this is something I've been suspecting drives Jenna's moments. It really is quite harrowing, dealing with an animal with epilepsy, especially as even the medications used for it aren't 100% guaranteed to stop it. :(
Sending you comforting hugs at this worrying time. xxxxx

Ah bless her. I love that you slept in her enclosure and that she pressed up against you.

Sending lots of vibes to you both.

Thank you all for the vibes, they seem to be helping. At the moment Aoife is much brighter and clearly feeling better within herself. I will just have to try not to constantly live in dread of the next episode. But more importantly it’s good that she doesn’t think like that, she will just focus on how she feels in the here and now.

I am so sorry I did not notice your update earlier. She is in the best possible hands and she is not showing any long term physical or mental effects of these episodes. So I think your last sentence says it all.
It can be very difficult to not worry about our beloved pets. I know how much all of your bunnies mean to you so I know how difficult it will be for you to not be dreading the next episode. Sending you lots of hugs and nose rubs for your girl.

I agree it must be hard and I would feel the same. But for now I'm pleased she's feeling better.

Sending you and your beautiful girl lots of positive vibes.
It must be so difficult for you Jane. Hugs.
