Eddie-U/D 16th September

This is just awful. Eddie is so bright, chasing Lizzie at breakfast time, eating like a horse and just being Eddie. His breathing is even a little better.

But OMG look at his eyes......................

Thinking of you and Eddie this morning.xx

Just a thought. Are you using both types of eye drop to help control the pressure?

We are back

C is now of the opinion that as well as all his other problems Eddie probably has a tumour in his chest effecting the blood supply to his head. To diagnose exactly what is going on Eddie would need a GA and if a tumour were to be found then he'd require specialist surgery.

C says that Eddie would need to be seen by a specialist and even if he was referred she said that she doubted any Vet would put a 6-7 year old Rabbit through surgery, especially given all Eddie's other problems.

I hope C was not saying that to make me feel better about not being able to afford a referral. I feel I am failing Eddie but I just dont have the funds which would be several hundred pounds

C says that as Eddie is still enjoying life and not suffering (despite how he looks when his eyes bulge, they dont always :?) we just keep him on his meds and take things one day at a time. As soon as he gives me the slightest sign that he is not happy or that he has any pain he will be helped to The Bridge.

Sorry if this post is a bit garbled but as well as poor Eddie's problems, this morning I have received some very distressing news on a personal issue so I am in rather a mess

Hope you are ok Jane.

You always put the buns first so please don't feel bad about the money side of things. I'm sure Eddie will be much happier at home with you living out the remainder of his time in familiar surroundings where he is loved and spoilt rather than the stress of a referal that in all probability wouldn't give him or you the answers you are hoping for anyway.

I don't think C was just saying that to make you feel better. Eddie is so lucky to have you and will leave out his days in style with someone who really cares. Really hoping your other problem is sorted soon too.

Thinking of you xxx

Jane - i'm glad Eddie is still with you. So sorry to hear you are having personal roblems.

Best wishes to you and vibes to Eddie. xxxxx

Jane - I'm really sorry about Eddie - but there is hope :)

Jasper has the same and has been like this for months but is a very happy bunny :D He has some rough days but he gets through them :D Jasper has been diagnosed with heart disease - his eyes bulge out of their sockets  even if he is washing  It's horrible to see but he just gets on with things and we are so used to it now :D

I really do think that Jasper has some rex in him so inevitably he has the heart problems that they do :(

He has hyerptension - but as I say, he is a very happy boy and he will tell us when it is time - just like they all do.

I will try and get some pictures and video of Jasper and put them on - you will see for yourself just how horrible it looks - but he's doing great and is on no medication at all - when he does need it he will go on it :)

Sending vibes to Eddie

Glad he's still with you. I hope he can enjoy some good times for as long as he's got.

Hope you're okay with whatever else you are dealing with as well.

Sending vibes and hugs.

Sorry to read this Jane.
While looking into katie's eye problems, it was noted as being a symptom of a thymoma. We thought it was unlikely because Katie is a young girl and it happens in older rabbits. From what I read the treatment is either surgery or radiotherapy- both of which involve GA's on an already ill animal and are very expensive.
I fully agree with you that an op wouldn't be in Eddie's best interest.

I'm glad Eddie is still comfortable, but so sorry it isn't good news long term. :(

I'm pretty sure C won't have been telling you things just to make you feel better &, even if you were a millionaire, she would no doubt still be advising you the same.

I hope you're ok. x
