  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Atticus unwell again :(

His ears are really cold, he's had more meds now. He's nibbled a bit of basil I picked him but other than that he's just sitting and laying uncomfortably :(

I always feel so sorry for him when he has these episodes, I'm really wondering if it's fair to keep putting him through this, but he's so happy the rest of the time :( Idk what to do with him tbh. When they were vaccinated recently he'd lost more weight again, I just can't keep him healthy anymore :(

I know the feeling from my Evan and Dash. There may come a time when Atticus has less happy days between his episodes and/or his episodes last more days; where you may need to re-evaluate his options with your vet. IMO he still has a lot of happy days between episodes, and you have adequate pain relief available for his episodes.
Fluids.
Sending him vibes for plenty of poo.

We have a mucus mess, yay! He's springy too, I don't think he's passed everything yet though, so probably need to do more meds I'm thinking

Oh, I'm so glad he has passed some stuff and is feeling better and eating hay. Sending lots more vibes for him until he has passed the rest.

Thanks everyone, he's just passed a huge log bigger than Michael's thumb! [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51] Never been so pleased to see such a monstrosity [emoji38]
