Warren Veteran
finally..its been over a week now...but the edinburgh specialist has got back to our vet..and richard saunders from bristol bunny clinic has too.
the opinion seems to be that berties seizures could well be his pasturella....only way to tell is a scan..and with his breathing probs..a GA to have a scan i feel would be stupid. and far too risky
he definately has pasturella i know that and its very much still active.....i have been giving him metacam the last few nights and he seems a bit better..especially with his stiff old back legs...and he seems a bit more relaxed.
the vets have come to the conclusiont hat putting bertie on depocillian injections every 5 days for 6 weeks should hopefully be enough to knock the infection back..for a while longer than the constant courses of baytril.
as for bluebell..it maybe that she got cured but reinfected herself.......so if my steam cleaner wont work ill will have to make do with scrubbing out the litter tray and then use a few kettles of scalding hot water until i can sort it.
The specialists have advised baycox for 2 to 3 days then one weeks gap..then 2 to 3 days of baycox...then wait ten days and repeat fecal float test.
i need to ring tuesday to see if the baycox is in...then i have to book an appointment for bertie to have another blood test..this time for TOXOPLASMOSIS:shock:
then bertie can also have his first depocillin injection....and bluebell can be reweighed to calculate her dose.
she was 4.o8kg last time...shes growing like crazy right now!
