• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

potential pregnant rabbit

She also seemed to be holding her breath and them she would breath really fast amd hold her preath again, well her nose was closed (the flap that moves up and down as they breath) her tummy was moving up and down but alot slower than when her nose did move

I really don't know tbh as I have no experience of pregnancy in rabbits, but teeth grinding is 100% what they do whilst in a lot of pain. I hope if it is kits she has them soon, poor thing

If she's grinding her teeth in the morning and there are no babies, something is very wrong so I would get her to the vet URGENTLY. Hopefully things will be okay and she'll deliver any babies tonight.

She's also very overdue by the dates quoted earlier (day 37 now?), which isn't a good situation. I would second getting her assessed by a vet as a matter of urgency. Out of Hours vets get very expensive as soon as you walk in the door, so it's always better to be proactive than wait for an emergency situation. Get advice first, as transporting her if she is in labour (assuming she is pregnant) is also an issue.

Perhaps her being around the male triggered hormones causing a false pregnancy,, though there could be medical reasons if she is getting false pregnancies. You may want to have her spayed.

I went to check on her and found hair in the nest!
She has started to line the nest
No babies yet but she may have them over night (hopefully 🤞🏻)
