The Duchess
Wise Old Thumper
So I decided on Tuesday that I had to get my act in gear. I had promised one of our 6ft plywood rescue hutches to someone whose bun had just been diagnosed with spondylosis and needed a long flat hutch as opposed to a double storey. I have had a wendy house sitting under a tarpaulin since October waiting for me to find somewhere to put it. So this week I've shoehorned it into a flowerbed. Had to dig up some plants and lay some paving but we got there in the end. Quite happy with the result considering everything was robbed from bits of timber, lino, weldmesh and paint I already had in the garden (I knew I had kept it all for some reason
Now called Honeysuckle House as it's under a bit mature honeysuckle draped over a very old pergola.
It used to be painted Red Cedar but is now a nice combination of Lavendar, Country Cream and Willow Cuprinol Garden Shades.
It faces north so I've cut an extra window in the back to allow maximum light in but have added a shutter so that when the weather is bad I can make it snug.
I've put Isabelle in it today for the first time and she's not at all bothered by the decor but is really rather pleased with her new litter trays full of hay.
The reason I do this is really because when people come to meet our rescue bunnies it gives them ideas about what accommodation could be like - not just a brown box in the corner of the pation. I think it has worked and most people don't think I am completely mad.
Just wanted to share, in case any of you were wondering what you could do with an old kids playhouse.
