Dealing with loss of our rabbit

Did you take time off work after the loss of your bunnies? I’m struggling to think how I can go back, and yet I know that I must.

I worked part time with the elderly in group classes, that helped as they were understanding. I guess it never felt like a regular job.

Maybe in another job I would have taken a week off. In New Zealand it was made law to give people time off for pet bereavement.

I’m glad it felt like that for you. That’s so good that they do that in New Zealand. I think it should definitely be made law everywhere x

You are fortunate you have understand work colleagues. I hope working helps.
I went to work, though it was hard to hold in my emotions and some people did not value my bunnies as much as their dogs or cats.

I know what you mean, and it’s very wrong. Sorry that was the case for you.
I’m struggling a lot to be honest, and am meant to be on a conference next week, and I honestly don’t feel like going and socialising in the evening, when I feel so unhappy.

Hi Helen. I lost my George this week. I know how you feel. I also felt cat and dog owners don't understand how intelligent rabbits are. I do feel a misunderstanding they are unaware of 'their humans' I took the week off work this week. I told my boss I cant focus and need time before returning to the office. I am planning to going back next week but still feel its too soon. My only advice is surround yourself with photos of Sweep. (P.S George was almost called Sooty)

I am so sorry for your loss of your precious little one George. It’s so hard isn’t it. I’ve been trying to do exactly that, but everything seems so very quiet and empty. I am sure you are finding the same. Funny that your little one was going to be called Sooty, as Sweep has actually left his brother Sooty behind, and he is very lost and lonely
