I am absolutely devastated, our beautiful girl Buttercup left for The Bridge yesterday afternoon. She was fine one minute and gone the next. She was recovering after having a massive operation on her front paw and was doing so well. Only two days before the vet rang to say that the lump and bone she had had removed was fine - no sign of cancer, we were over the moon as she was doing so well. Sunday afternoon she had been sat up looking around and grooming her partner Squirrel, she led on her side which wasn't unusual, gave out a little cry and died - all within about 90 seconds, we were with her when she went.
Squirrel is so sad, he looks so lonely and despite the fact that we have put him with 4 of his other friends as they all mix together without a problem, he is just sat away from the others and doesn't want to bother. He is eating today though and I had him checked at the vets yesterday and stocked up on meds just in case he was going to stop eating.
Buttercup has been left at the vets for a post mortem.
I can't believe our girl has gone after all we have been through. I love you Buttercup
