I meant to do longer tonight, was hoping for 4hrs but dinner was ready, so had to stop after 3.20hrs. But that is my longest session.
Well I've certainly bonded with Bumble
. He's such a cutey pie.
First 30mins was Pip trying to escape and some squabbling between them. Then we had Pip doing some hopping around the pen and she nipped his bum or dug him. Sometimes he runs off, sometimes he turns around. I intervened if they boxed.
The rest was mostly eating and snoozing. They even managed to eat hay from a pile with only 2 inches between them. My heart was going mental waiting for one of them to react. Nothing happened. They did the same later on in the date and Pip did grunt and lunge at him, but I stopped her. (Pip has always been a bit like that with food towards Archie. We call her our piglet, cos she sounds like one) lol. So at least she's being herself.
He did loads of spectacularly binkies, including parkouring off the pen wall and landing in the water bowl. Pip didn't lunge at him at all this time.
I felt more relaxed other than the eating face to face bit. That was positively terrifying. They go from cute and fluffy to wolverines in half a second.
Anyway I'm proud of her tonight she was much better by the end and they were def sat snoozing about a 1.5ft apart.
I watched a video suggesting to stroke their heads to calm them down and encourage grooming. Well Pip hates heads rubs
always has and Bumble charges away as soon as you try to touch him, so that def doesn't help relax the situation. Lol.
