Well the Vets are stumped and like me they have never seen anything like this before. Brian is now totally blind in his left eye and has only minimal vision in the right eye. Like me the Vets could see no evidence of cataracts, other lens damage, retinal bleeds or detachment, no absecessation/abnormal masses.

So a presumptive diagnosis of EC was given and he is on treatment accordingly. I am unable to afford a referral to an opthalmic specialist. The cost of just a consult, without any diagnostics/treatment is £127  My Vets say that they really cant see what treatment could be offered given the symptoms. They suspect a battery of diagnostics would be needed, putting it even further out of reach for me financially

So now it is a question of time. To see if Brian becomes more able to cope with his loss of vision and can have a good quality of life. At the moment that is definitely not the case, he is absolutely terrified and keeps having massive panic attacks  It is just awful to witness

Oh Jane, I suspect, maybe wrongly, the tests needed would not be something you'd want him put through given the state he is in and the effect travelling would have on him, regardless of finances.

I am so sorry there is no definitive diagnosis and that he is still so panicky. What a nightmare.
