Signatures....why are some people allowed big pics?!

I just spent ages making a new sig on an online thing, but can't use it on here as it is 12 megapixels too wide :shock: yes, a whole 12!!!

Yet it is still nowhere near as big as many on here....how is it possible for some to be able to use bigger sigs, and others (like me just now) it refuses?

12 megapixels is massive!! do you mean pixels? :lol: I don't understand who some people have bigger ones either... I always presumed older members have kept their larger signatures before mods introduced a limit to the signature sizes :?

Can't you just resize it 12 pixels narrower? I'm sure someone will do it for you if you're not sure how. :thumb:

Yes, there used to be no enforced limit on siggy size, just a recommendation, but as they started getting larger and larger a limit was added.

HAHAHA I was half asleep when I wrote that, yes I meant 12 pixels :lol::lol::lol:


I have trimmed the edges but it means I have lost the border at the sides now. (as you can see)

I was lazy and used an online programme, and once its done its done, you cant edit, only restart :roll:

Thing is, if they are too wide then people have to scroll the screen all the time and it gets very annoying. It's fine on my screen cos I have a huge screen and resolution but people on older screens with smaller res it's frustrating. That's why most forums have a set size.

I understand that, but what I mean is, the set size wont let me put up my sig, yet there are sigs on here that are much bigger.....I dont know how some people manage to get round it :?

I think you have the maximum width, but not height. If you did a deeper sig yours would look as big as others :wave:

Yes, but the OP hasn't hit the max height - their sig isn't very deep

yes they can make it a tad deeper, my sig is at the max height

I'm happy enough with the depth of it.....but there are people on here who have sigs wider than mine, for sure.

One in particular springs to mind that is a whole big photo :shock: Havent seen them on in a while but I was shocked every time I saw it :lol:

I can't be bothered editing it to fix the border, so itll just have to stay chopped :roll: I was never happy with my last sig either, but took this long to finally make another :lol:

Is it to do with being a forum supporter? I looked into paying a subscription to use the items for sale bit the other day and noticed that you get more space to store PM's so perhaps they give you more space for a signature too?!

No, we only get the same space.

Deeper signatures tend to look wider (like an optical illusion)

I remember somebody asking the question a while back as another poster had a huge photo as their siggy. I can't remember who it was though or if we ever figured out how they managed to do it. :? :lol:

Some tend to look bigger than others, depending on colour, style etc too. Mine is the maximum size but sometimes I think it looks bigger than everybody else's. :lol:

It's not really a big deal anyway - the space we're allowed is plenty.
