I am glad your Timothy hay arrived.
I live in the Western part of New York State USA.
My newest ND bunny is named Peter. He is quarantined from my lionheads, so my spouse has been spending a lot of time with him so he is not alone.
I thought you posted on the thread I announced his arrival, so you probably forgot because you have so much on your mind.
Sending positive vibes your spouse does well with his hip surgery.

Awww such a cute name for a little bun. Was he called that when you got him or did you rename him? I honestly can't remember that at all and it doesn't surprise me as my memory is rubbish these days and I am sure I keep repeating myself. I find it takes forever posting on here as I can never remember any words

So lovely that your OH loves bunnies just like my OH. He has a new bunny to care for after losing your lovely Heidi

Thank you so much we are getting nervous now as only 2 days to go. I am really worried how I will cope looking after him and buns for the next month. My OH has been cleaning the flat everywhere ready for going into hospital for possibly a few days. I can't help as my neck really hurts from having to sit up to sleep this week x

Just to update everyone...we have received the soft Timothy hay. It arrived on Friday in the end. Believe it or not they actually love this hay as well. I am putting soft hay with a sprinkle of oat hay in the front of the litter boxes and the coarser hay on the large tray and they are eating all of the hay now.

Lillabelle yesterday was sitting in the litter tray eating hay for ages and then hopped out after doing 40-50 poops in the tray and sat on the large hay eating the other coarser timothy hay instead! 🩷

Mischief is loving all the hay and is pounding and growling at us if we touch their hay at all. He is in bunny heaven lying on the large hay guarding it constantly and gets very unhappy when we clean the trays even though we put the uneaten hay in to the litter trays 🩵

They are eating so much of the timothy hay that they are not even asking us for pellets at all so we don't even need to try them on the Readigrass instead of the pellets! They are also leaving their veggies at 6 pm and they are going back later for them. I have never been so happy and unstressed about our bunnies as everything is going so well. All thanks to everybun on RU.

I can't thank everybun enough. But a huge thanks once again

I am glad your bunnies like the new hay and are not looking for pellets.

It is nice your spouse is keeping busy before his hip surgery to relieve you of some of the burden while he is healing. When the time comes, I am sure you will find a way to do what is necessary.

My lionheads are eating so much of the timothy hay we got last month that I will be picking up a lot more this week. I find the hay I buy in late fall and winter is not the same quality as the hay I buy in the summer, so will get as much as I can store properly.

Peter was the name the original owner selected for my ND bunny. I cut back on his pellets and Peter is looking for more so we divide his ration so he gets a few pellets several times a day.
