Hello again

Hi everyone, Pippin's Mum here, after an absence of some years. Pippin's gone now, over the Bridge, to be with others I've had through the years. I only have one left now, my houserabbit Beau, a Cashmere Lop, given to me by a work colleague when she couldn't take him to a new rented accommodation. He's 4, and a real little love.

I won't be getting any more, I'm almost State Pension age, and worry about what will happen if I die suddenly or am hospitalised,etc, and have no one to care for him. He will be my last.

Hope everyone's ok, would be good to hear some old voices.:wave:

Nice to see you back - I'm sorry to hear about Pippin. i'm sad you feel you can't have bunnies in future but hope Beau has lots of years left

Thanks everyone, nice to be back. I'll try to put a photo or two of Beau on, so you can see him, little tinker. He had a poor start, from P@H as a tiny baby, the people who had him kept him as a houserabbit. I got him at about 6 months, unneutered, unvaccinated and even unnamed! His coat was long and just three huge matts, one either side and one along his back. When I asked if they had groomed him the lady said 'I've put him under the tap'. Off he went to the vets for neutering, vaccinating and shaving under anaesthetic. Covered in fleas as well. As his coat grew back I started grooming. but he was really vicious, biting me several times and really meaning it. I had a few nasty bites from him. He's fine now, I keep his coat really short and he copes well with grooming. However, he suffers from continual gut stasis, having 18 episodes this year alone (so far!) He's had every investigation known to man (or vet), including xrays, blood tests, you name it, but no reason can be found. He's recently been to a specialist vet for xrays, dental exam and full blood work up, but again nothing found. In fact the vet commented on how good his teeth are. I have to manage with meloxicam, metaclopramide and syringe feeding.

He's a real sweetie though, I love him to bits.

So sorry to hear that you have lost Pippin.
Beau sounds a real sweetheart, he's so lucky to have you to look after him after that not so good start in life.
