Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Harvey having emergency operation! (50/50 chance)

I've only just seen this :(

I am so, so sorry. After everything you've been through :( You really could not have been a better owner to him, and by the sounds of things you tried everything you could. He was so lucky to have you. xx

Im so very very sorry xxx run free Harvey and look down on your bunny mummy from above...sending love & strength xxx

Hi everyone,

Honestly from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much! I can't thank you enough for all your support and lovely comments for all of us.

I know many of you have been through this too but I must admit this has been so so hard, I think even more so because I had actually convinced myself he would be okay and it was just such a huge and Nasty shock! :( with moving away from my family, honey and Harvey were my new little family.
I can't thank you enough for all your support.. I know it's still really early days and time is helping but I just see memories of him everywhere in the house! I know I'll never forget him but I just miss him, and I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record but everyone knows how much of an amazing little fighter Harvey was and through everything he always remained himself.

Plus I know honey is really struggling, she is literally stuck to us like glue and although she's eating it's not as much as usual! I do want to get her a friend but at the moment I just can't face it.

Harvey was an inspiration, and a very courageous bunny. I'm sure that your love kept him going throughout, and yes it must have been an awful shock, but he is at peace now. He'll always be with you, a bond like that can never be broken. Give little Honey a gentle nose rub from me, she will be fine. Maybe in time, she will have a little friend, but it's early days.
take things easy Ruth, we are always here on RU xxxxx

I've not been on here much lately and am devastated to see this thread.

Ruth I am so, so sorry. After all your beautiful boy had gone through too with his poor legs.

I'm genuinely upset about this, so cannot begin to imagine how you must be feeling.

Sending you huge comforting hugs.

Thinking of you and Honey.xxxx

I am sorry I am so late to this thread. I haven't been around recently, but was so saddened when I logged on to find this devastating news.

I am deeply sorry that your brave boy lost his fight. He was lucky to have had such devoted carers fighting alongside him. I know words are never enough and cannot take away the pain, but I am thinking of you and little Honey. xx
