wood cladding on an aviary

HI, was just wondering if i covered the back of my aviary in wood (other 2 sides will still be mesh), would it make it too hot in the summer, the back is in the sun a lot of the time and so i thought if i covered it in wood and painted it white it might make it cooler, is this a stupid idea or not ? :?

I think lots of aviaries are partially boarded like that - I wouldn't have a problem with it personally.
