VACCINATE- Myxo, RHD1 & RHD2 -Updated 1st October 2018

I've dug further into the link MM has - and it gets more confusing.

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/p...dvice/keeping-your-rabbit-fit-and-healthy#RHD
at the above link, it tells you were it comes from, the path follows as this (the words are links BTW) "Home>Pet Care Advice>Small Pet Care Advice>Rabbit Care Advice>Keeping your rabbit fit and healthy"

so, I click back to "Rabbit care advice" - I get this page:
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/rabbit-care-advice

and if I click onto "small pet care advice" - I get this page:
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/content/advice/small-animal-care-advice

"small pet care advice" runs from "pet care advice" - which is this page:
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/content/advice

lets repeat this backwards to get back to the link about vaccinations now shall we..........

now, if we follow from their site, http://www.petsathome.com , scroll down to the bottom, and under "look after your pet" we click "pet care advice"
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/content/advice

this is the same link as above, as you can see. lets click onto "small pet care advice" - should be the same as the previous one we were on right?
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pet-talk/pet-care-small-animal/

WRONG

this link is completely and utterly different from the link that runs from our original link. the one that the vaccination advice(the original link at the top of this post) comes from "small-animal-care-advice".
the one that leads from their home page, the one the public can easily find, is pet-care-small-animal.

essentially, our original link, the one that actually goes in depth about the diseases rabbits face, is hidden to the public.

the rabbit care advice link is also different:
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pet-care-small-animal-rabbit

the one that runs from the original link is "rabbit-care-advice", this one is "pet-care-small-animal-rabbit"

it is useless having information that is hidden from the public. while the link does show that P@H have realised information to the public, it is useless. it can not be found.

then I don't understand why it isn't on their site as an active link for something that is important :? why is it hidden and required to be found via a google search?

Human error - their devs have made a new page instead of updating the old page, and forgot to link to the new page[emoji38] having looked I think that's what's happened here, silly dev [emoji38] I don't think they're trying to hide it, it just looks like a mistake haha

If you tell them someone can fix the link :)

The RWAF have been informed and if there is 'human error' involved on the PAH website then hopefully it will be addressed promptly. I think the RWAF can be trusted to look into any concerns :)

I think their website may be :censored: up as if you click on this link

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pet-care-small-animal-rabbit

then scroll down and click on 'Rabbit Health' then scroll down again and click on 'A guide to a Rabbit Housing' the information that comes up is this

http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/pet-talk/pet-care-how-to-prevent-shedding

:?

Looks remarkably like information about dog grooming to me

Ah I hope it gets sorted out :)

Just looks like webpage mess up 101 to me [emoji38] find it hard to believe they'd wanna keep info from everyone after making a page for it too.

For those who you who use Facebook then you may want to check in on this page regularly for day-to-day updates on the RHD2 situation.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/174...dwTH5W8NMKKoMjKGMD4RfMvEznSnWPPpSQd0-oAze3ZzQ

As you will see, reports are coming in daily. Sadly almost all deaths are in UNVACCINATED Rabbits. So this makes it crystal clear that the only way to protect a Rabbit from RHD is to VACCINATE.

Advice given to Rabbit owners has to be accurate. Many owners lost much loved pet Rabbits not because the owner was negligent but because they simply were not aware of the need to vaccinate and/or had been given misleading advice. For example that House Rabbits dont need vaccinating

Of course Myxomatosis has not gone away and Rabbits who are unvaccinated have little chance of surviving the virus.

The RWAF are a 100% up to date and reliable source of information regarding all Rabbit related matters including Vaccinations and the RHD2 situation in the UK

This is the conclusion I came to last night, but I was desperately tired after a very tiring day and thought to confirm that I would need to do the research that binkiecodie did. Thank you for doing this bc

The fact remains though that in my view the information on vaccinations should be very obvious on their website under Rabbit Healthcare. It should be aimed at new rabbit owners, who know very little about rabbit care and to be at all useful the person should not have to search for vaccinations at all.

Hopefully, P@H will now give their IT section a kick up the backside.

Exactly right Grace :)

The info Loobers quoted earlier on here is what I saw around 18 months ago. I then was in touch with Head Office over a period of time to inform them of all the recent developments and I sent them a lot of research.

I was pleased to see that they had updated their info.
Simply a techie error and hopefully if anyone from this thread writes to them they can get it fixed :)

Oh gosh, I'll keep an eye out around here then. Also hi neighbour (from me and from bunnies)!

You are doing all you can to protect your Rabbits by keeping them up to date with their vaccinations. It is just so very sad to see entire colonies of wildies being wiped out

On a slightly more positive note I did actually see two young urban wildies at the local stables this morning. So the colony is still fighting to survive despite the best efforts of evil viruses.

Yes, such a horrible disease, I hope the wild colonies can make it through.

it could well be human error, but their website is such a mess that isn't not surprising for me. but it would seem weird that they would have two live links running. to save as much space as possible on a server and to reduce loading times, you delete or archive pages that are no longer useful to the public. its one of the first or last things on your checklist. its odd how they haven't which makes me wonder if this is genuine error.

I do not think the different page is "new" however, I remember pages looking like that from years back and then it got changed to this. I remember researching hamsters/rabbits etc and the pages looking like they do there, to then being updated to what they have now. perhaps my memory is poor.

its all well and good coming up on google but most are going to go via the site and not type out a question that specific into google...perhaps I am too cynical.

hopefully they will fix it or change the pages links, or add information.

its okay, you're more than welcome... I have far too much time on my hands

Heyy sometimes it's hard okay! (I may or may not have personally made this mistake on a website... [emoji38][emoji38])

But yea pets at homes website is a bit of a mess, I think they need a better team in charge of it [emoji38]

Efficiency is everything - but it's not always achievable if you're inexperienced or haven't come across it... The other day I spent 2 hours working something out, turns out.. There was a few lines of code which could've sorted it for me in like 2 mins... [emoji849] at least I know for next time hahaha

I agree :)

Those who think P@H's website is a mess - tell them.
No use bashing them on here where they can't hear you

Be pro-active :)
