You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Lillabelle not eating

It is wonderful Lillabelle is doing so well, yet it must be frustrating to not have her blood test results after two weeks.
Her making the teeth chattering and enjoying head pets sounds lovely.
I am glad Mischief is also doing well.
Sending lots of positive vibes for good results.
Yes we still haven't heard. I chased our vets and they are still waiting for RVC to get back to them. Our vets is ringing us at 3.30pm to let us know the blood results at least so I am very nervous. I really hope she is improved.

Lillabelle is literally chucking her litter tray everywhere numerous times a day! As soon as we clean it all up she does it again. I guess it is where she was spayed late? It could also be that she is doing natural behaviour for a rabbit of digging as well? We were thinking a large box with lots of shredded paper in might help but she does eat the cardboard so we could not leave it for her. It is getting a huge problem now and she keeps us awake at night with all the scrabbling.

Just to say I seem to have a problem spelling words now. I just have a blank. I nearly wrote cupboard instead of cardboard. Just if I seem to write nonsense it is my brain fog so please just ignore it. Thank you x

That's so lovely to hear that both bunnies are happy, eating well and enjoying life, and long may that continue x
Thank you Pets mum yes we really hope so. I hope we have made the right decision although I guess there is no right or wrong answer but mainly what is best for an individual rabbit. Lillabelle shows no obvious pain or discomfort. I do worry that her digging could be due to pain though. I will ask our vet today.

They run up the kitchen every day for their treat. Either a sprig of herbs or a piece of brocolli. They only do the 'kitchen run' once a night which I find strange. I expected them to do it numerous times but they don't. It is so funny though. I will see Mischief doing his run up with his lovely little hops and then Lillabelle will come dashing around the corner so fast overtaking Chief and getting there first. She is so quick. She does leaps rather than hops. They are so different and yet both so adorable in their own way x

Great to hear they're both rabbiting along nicely! Piper has periods of incessant litter tray digging, I think it's pretty normal especially for female rabbits (and she was spayed at about 6 months old). I wouldn't worry about it (although it is pretty annoying for us humans!) and from what I've observed Piper doesn't usually dig if she's in pain so probably a good sign for Lillabelle.

Lovely to hear about their kitchen runs, sending good vibes for the results!

Thank you so much for letting me know about Piper. I feel better knowing it is natural behaviour most probably. We have put more hay down the head ends of their litter trays now so she tends to throw out hay rather than litter as litter makes such a mess! 🤣

Thank you for your vibes x

I have just spoken to the local vet and she said she has not heard back from RVC but she has resent the paperwork and chased them.

So the blood work has improved but probably not enough to clear the abscess in her abdomen. She is pleased to hear Lillabelle is still eating and pooping normally plus very active running about.

She said unfortunately she would still need an operation to take out the abscess which we can no longer do due to finances plus we are not sure how Lillabelle would cope being away so long without Mischief. It really makes no difference what we think now as I explained we do not have the money as would end up owing £4000 and as we are on benefits it would take years to pay off.

I did say we get new insurance of £2500 in August so we could do the operation then but we are under no illusions that she could deteriorate suddenly at any point before August. She also said more antibiotics would probably not penetrate the wall of the abscess any further. She said to hold off on the Loxicom as she is doing well without it.

I got very upset then on the telephone as I have been doing so much recently. I am getting very anxious and depressed and Lillabelle's situation is very hard to get when we have tried so hard to help her. Overall it is all very upsetting. I wish I could give you all better news but it is as expected.

I am sorry I am not on RU more but having other stuff going on which is all a bit of a struggle atm. I will try and come on here soon plus update you on our bunnies as and when. Take care everybun for now 💗
