Is douglas fir safe for rabbits?

Here in the Pacific Northwest of the US, 90% of the ground is covered with tall, majestic Douglas firs. Being the most common tree here, I've often wondered if it's safe to eat, but have never found an answer. Anybody know?

By the way, Douglas fir is not a true fir. I don't know if it's a spruce or pine or what, but it's not fir. I know that much :)

My understanding is that no derivative of evergreen is safe for rabbit consumption due to the natural oils. I'd steer clear.
Your vet is the best one to ask what to feed rabbits. 🙂
