• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Chemo for Lymphoma/Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome in Rabbits

Just to say that Peach Blossom is being totally amazing today - she is running round like a lunatic - (like her old self in fact), eating everything she can get, pooing big (for her) round (for her) poos and generally being like a very well rabbit!!!!

It incredible.

Just hope it lasts . .

Really hope it lasts too :D

Marvellous for you all though!

Just wondering how Princess Peach Blossom is doing now Twigs ? I hope that she continues to cope well with her treatments x

Hi JJ,

Princess Peach Blossom did really well for about 6 days then had a massive one of her 'episodes' and we could actually feel a thickened area really clearly (which did in a way mean the rest was not so thickened). She was in real pain for the first time - so we went back to the vet and after blood tests showed no side effects from the original trearment they brought forward the next anticipated 2 week chemo to just one week. That was one week ago and she has been brilliant ever since - starving hungry amazingly lively etc etc - She is due another one this Friday (another one week spacing) and then we will think about extending it.

Myvets are getting in touch with a vet that used to work there who did her original spay reaction op. (ie the one to sort out the massive issues she had after original spay elsewhere) to see if he can give them any more info than is on the notes about what her insides look like.

Bless her, I am glad that she is doing better again now and I hope that she will continue to do so xx

I hope the vet who did the spay can shed more light on her.

Glad she's OK at the moment.

Thank you for your PM :)

I am so sorry not to have updated this but it is very hard for us. Princess Peach Blossom had an amazing week of being SO healthy and hungry and rushing around the place (we will be putting videos on Parsley Piert Parcels facebook page), but then had another acute episode and died in my arms Saturday morning. We had a post mortem done and the vet said that although the treatment was shrinking some lumps her poor gut wall was so badly damaged it was impossible for her to have recovered ever.

we are in shock as we had such high hopes and she had responded so very well to treatment. We wil mis her terribly.

Oh Twigs I am so very sorry. I had really hoped that the treatment would work. You all tried, I guess that her condition was too severe to enable her to survive

As always you did everything possible, none of us can do the impossible

RIP Princess Peach Blossom xx

Oh Twigs, I am so sorry to hear about Princess Peach Blossom.
Thinking of you in your time of grief and sending comforting hugs.

Binky free, PPB. xxxx

I am so sorry to read this - you couldn't have done any more for her and gave her a wonderful life. I am so sorry it couldn't have been longer.

Sleep tight pretty girl xx
