Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Anybunny else not moulting yet?

Usually around this time of the year Casper and Sophie are leaving tons of fur everywhere, but right now Sophie has only been moulting a tiny bit for a few weeks, and Casper isn't moulting at all. I don't know if it's because I've been taking care of their fur differently or because the house has been at a constant 20C night and day for months now for Sophie and they don't really need to change their coat. So, I was curious if any other bunnies aren't moulting yet, or if my two are just very slow at it.

Billy Bumper isn't moulting yet and he usually does by the end of February. Last year I collected up a full freezer bag of his fur. I've put it out for the birds to use for their nests this year 🥰. I wonder if it's not been consistently warm enough?

Dusty hasn't moulted yet but I think it's because the temps are still low especially at night. The room she's in is around 16c.

Thank you for your replies! Sounds like Sophie and Casper aren't the only late ones, then!

I donate their fur to the birds, too! Could be that it's not been consistently warm enough, yeah. It was snowing just the other day here.

Mr Chief is heavily moulting which he does around this time of year and again in September just before his birthday. We are brushing him daily but he hates it and still finding fur everywhere. Do your bunnies get depressed when they moult. Mr Chief gets very grumpy and lazy when he is going through moulting x
