Supporting Casper

Thank you for your replies about moving them, j&b and keletkezes. After reading your messages, I moved them on Saturday and they've had no issues whatsoever!

I have some unbreakable thick harder plastic bowls for pellets and they are very hard to chew. They are crock style bowls and they come in different sizes.
Though your metal bowl is very nice, so perhaps just get another one.

That is another cute photo with Casper in the tunnel watching Stamp💗
Ah, I'll see if I can find some of those, then! I do like my metal bowl, but I don't think I'll be getting another one, because Stamp has decided it's a very nice toilet  So, I need something that's too small for her to fit her big bum in.

Speaking of, I have an update about the house for Casper. I found the right size door that Casper could only just get through, so I was sure Stamp wouldn't be able to get into it. Well. She spent ages trying and eventually managed to squeeze herself through all the way up to her hips...where she got stuck. She got herself out again after a little struggle, because cardboard is kind of bendy, but if it had been a wooden house she'd been in trouble, so I didn't find that very safe... So, I was looking at predator proof hedgehog houses (I know ) and saw that they often have a tunnel alongside the house, with the door opening in the side of the house, so the predator (Stamp :ROFLMAO:) can't get in because there's not enough room for them to turn in there. I improvised with Casper's little castle house and a small IKEA crate I had lying around:

Casper could get in, Stamp couldn't, while also not being able to get stuck in a too-small door, and as a bonus she has found a new favourite spot, because she spends almost all day on top her house  Casper was happy and now that he didn't have to compete for food with Stamp he's put all his efforts into befriending her, and they've been cuddling a lot, and I've seen Stamp grooming him for the first time ❤️

If you feel a 'but' coming, you're right, because today Stamp managed to work her way halfway into the house after all and ate all of Casper's greens 😅 So, I've made some adjustments, but it's clear I shouldn't underestimate her willpower when it comes to food :ROFLMAO:

I was reading your update thinking i know Stamp is going to find her way inside. Lol.
I have found bunnies are incredibly stubborn and the more you try and stop them getting to something.....the more determined they are at ramming their cute little butt's into places they shouldn't. I applaud you efforts and will look forward to more updates of Stamps mischief. 😆

I am however very pleased, that the move to their room has gone smoothly and they are all loved up this is great news. Hoorahhh.

You sure are right about them being incredibly stubborn and become more determined the more you try to stop them, haha. Case in point, Stamp has just squeezed herself into the house again, making a total mockery of my efforts to make the door smaller :ROFLMAO: I will need to think of something else... I know they have those cat flaps that only let the animal with the right chip through, but I've heard they malfunction a lot and I don't want Casper to accidentally get trapped inside the house...

I've added another bit of tunnel, much narrower. It's become a bit of a weird construction :ROFLMAO: Casper can get through, so we'll see if Stamp can, since she clearly doesn't have a skeleton inside her.

Oh my gosh, Stamp is making me laugh. Maybe tell her you want her to squeeze in to the box, as often as possible...that would stop mine 🤣

Awww its real nice to see them cuddling❤️ Who is top bun?

Lol. She doesn't have a skeleton. 😆😆😆😆. I think buns are like 99% floof and 1% everything else.
I read years ago about them using their whiskers to guide them through gaps. . Well thats total fib! My buns pay no attention to how wide their whiskers are!

Well, you'll both be amused to know that the narrower tunnel wasn't enough to stop her from getting to Casper's food. She just kept squeezing and squeezing until she was inside  I will try your reverse psychology tactic, j&b, good idea :ROFLMAO: I've read that, too, Mervinius, and I agree that bunnies themselves don't seem to be aware of it!

I don't know who top bun is... It doesn't look like either of them is very interested in it

I didnt think it would take her long!

Yeah, she definitely doesn't give up easily  I've made some more adjustments, so we'll see..

I forgot to mention that I officially adopted her yesterday ❤️ So, she'll be staying with Casper and me. It looks like it'll be very interesting, living with her

Glad to hear its official. She is definitely going to be good entertainment. I like that she pees in a bowl , if you think about it, its a very environmentally friendly way of disposing rabbit waste.

about the whiskers. Noodle only had one eye & for some reason (best known to himself) Joey once took it upon himself to chew ALL the whiskers off one side of her face 🤣 . She was an EC bun too. She already had enough wonky issues

I do not think whiskers helped my bridge bunny Heidi because she was a mini Rex and she had short curly whiskers.🩷
It is nice to know you made Stamp’s adoption official, though I expected her to stay as soon as she stole your heart! ❤️
If Stamp keeps eating everything, she soon will be too big to fit through anything Casper could get through. Aces for trying!
It is good to read that she is grooming Casper and sitting with him even after their move. Well done bunnies and reader.

:ROFLMAO: True! But having to throw away the food inside the bowl because it's been peed on makes it a bit less environmentally friendly :ROFLMAO:

I really wonder what was going through Joey's head when he chewed off Noodle's whiskers...

Aww, Heidi had little whiskers ❤️
Haha, that's true! She might solve the problem herself by getting too big to fit through the door!

The adjustments I made to Casper's house seem to have worked (for now...). Casper can go in and out, but Stamp hasn't been able to, because there's still food inside the house in the morning, so I'm 100% sure she hasn't been in there during the night  They're doing really well together, cuddling and grooming, and have been sharing a litter tray, so I think today I'll give them more space.

I've renamed her Saar, by the way. I thought she needed a more special name, since about half the bunnies here are named Stamp(er).

Aw Saar, that's a nice name, so pleased that she is an "official" family member now, she's certainly fell on her paws 😊, glad that she hasn't managed to get into the house again, so far ! I too had to smile about peeing in the bowl, but agree it's not really an ideal place to choose 🙄

Aw, thank you. Funnily enough, she's not the first bunny to pee in that bowl. I guess because it's so wide, they maybe think that it's a special kind of toilet...

Aw wearing ear hats. Saar does sound to be a really interesting rabbit. She clearly enjoys all those nice puzzles that you set for her.

So glad that the bond is going well.
