why do some rescues not reply?

A rescue near me lied on the phone about the health of a pair I was considering. They obviously didn't realise we knew a bit about rabbit health and knew it was a load of rubbish what they were saying.
that's really bad.
where i adopted maisie from turned out to be a breeder aswell as a 'rescue'. i was gutted because i obviously didn't know, and i donated a hutch to them aswell.
in a way i'm glad i didn't know because i got my beautiful maisie, but i would never use them again obviously.
