  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Thats my education for the day. Need to think of something for tomorrow now!

Sorry for thread-jacking....I hope Opal is back to normal really soon :)

Opals' stomach med is Fibreplex, the vet gave her some then I gave her some in the evening. I did give her another lot at 10am this morning but I now see she's eating the soft pellets and hay also - I'm not going to mess her about giving her anymore, she's thankfully back to normal :D

She's been chasing Gem around the run; its been like watching the grand prix - guess there's a bit of pent up energy to use up lol

I'll keep a close eye on her but I think we can safely say she's over the worst. She's been so good after I've caught her, wrapping her in a towel she's content to just sit and let me do what I have to.

This little episode has certainly helped my confidence in handling them. Thank you so much everyone for your help and guidance, it really has been worth its weight in gold
