I have a 2 year old neutered male rabbit. He lives indoors in a room with his brother.
This morning he wasn't enthusiastic about breakfast. Ordinarily he would come running out when it's breakfast time.
So far I haven't seen him eat and I'm worried.
He has pooed - big and golden since I've been with him in the last 15 minutes and his litter tray from overnight has the regular amount of poo that he produces.
I've offered him herbs and he had a tiny nibble. I've stuck pieces of hay under his nose and he's chomped them, but not eaten them - so chomping them so that they're no longer in his way. I've tried the same with a willow stick with same result chomp at it so it's out of the way.
He's moving around as normal and he got into his tray to poo, so no loss of litter habits. He's lay down every now and then but it doesn't look like tummy pressing.
I haven't seen him drink or wee yet.
It doesn't seem right that he's less than enthusiastic about his hay and hasn't eaten anything yet.
There's nothing that I can really put my finger on and with such vague details I don't expect anyone to come up with anything, but here goes - any ideas RU'ers, what could be going on or am I just over-reacting?
Just to add he had an episode of gut stasis back in Feb during a heavy moult, but I haven't seen any 'furpoos' and as I said he is actually pooing.
Thanks
Just to add he's up to date with his vaccinations - myxi, VHD 1 and 2
