Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Smell poop

Hello to everyone,
Cookie is 8 months old and has not been sterilized. His normally toilet training was very good, I toilet trained him myself. But he has been pooping as regional marking for the last 3 months. He sprayed did not pee, but he sprays local poop.

The problem is, Cookie's poop has some smell for a week. Poop size normal, normal color, dry and healthy hardness, the number of poop is normal. But what is this smel??

He has no illness. He's good to eat, good energy. What do you think is the reason for smell poop?

It could be territorial droppings from hormones. That kind of poop does have a smell to it kinda like onions or body odor.

Yes, it smells like that, like body odor. I understand, it could be hormonal. I could not be sure too. Your answer relaxed me, thanks. :)

Most healthy Rabbits manage to clean themselves, it is only occasionally that a Rabbit will not do so. Un- neutered Bucks do smell, it is normal :)

I understand. I'm thinking of spaying him in June. But I am very sad. :| I'm very afraid that something will happen to him. So sometimes I avoid it. :|
