  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

omg WHY HAVNT I SEEN THIS THREAD. i have bought 3 of these pens, 20 panels all together. i bought them originally for the buns to go on the lawn out front but them used them to protect the tv and other things from the buns. BUT THEN ive used them to make bonding spaces, 4 panels with 4 rabbits in and 6 panels to try to bond 8 rabbits in. I feel so sick, ecpecially because while bonding there was a lot of fast chasing. After that i used them to section my garden in 2 to get the two quads used to each other. Well i wont be doing that again. Me and the buns have been extremely lucky that nothing bad has happened. Thankyou so much for keeping this thread fresh. Ive gone really sick reading about the unfortunate buns but i think it needed telling.

It is extremely sad and very distressing :(

I didn't see the thread for ages, although I've never used any panels like those. I'm glad you've been alerted to their dangers so you can put them to some other use (if there is one)

they will be all meshed today for around the furniture but i wont chance them again for sectioning the garden off even with mesh. Its not worth the risk for me. My buns are only just 6mths and 11mths and although they are quite big, the smallest being over 2kg, blitzen and tiggi have got small faces. It goes to show that its not about how big your bun is. We have pics of them with their noses through which we thought was cute. I no longer think it is. I couldnt sleep last night thinking about all them poor buns. xx
