Other than frozen bottles and shade what else can we do to keep them cool??
I've been leaving a fan on for mine.
The wire is covered so it's safe. They have been laying in front of it all day today.
I'm hoping to get some ice pods though (because leaving a fan on 24/7 gets expensive!)
I'm trying to find a fan that I can mount to the aviary mesh, it's not easy!
They're big fans of having cool ears!!!
Mine is just stood on a little table outside the mesh
I repositioned the hay bin to create a bit of shadow across the aviary. then ive put a bath sheet over the roof of the aviary.
The shed door is a far open as it can be then Ive a bamboo blind hung over the doorway.
Thermometer in the shed peaked at 29.2 deg today. Ive got an icepod but the walk past it:evil:
A big tile, they stay cool almost all the time.
Do you have to cool it in the fridge or anything? I'm sure there's a box of bathroom tiles in bottom shed :thumb:
Wet their ears  either dip your hands in water and then wipe it over their ears/head, or get a few pieces of kitchen roll, fold it up, soak it in water and drape it over their ears  this helps lots.
