About, I would say, two months ago I bonded my bunny Poppy with Peter. Poppy has always loved her food but is also a dental bun so I have to keep an eye on her so I know what she's eating, therefore my one worry about bonding her was not being able to gage so much what she's eating.
So I now have Peter who I would say is one of the greediest rabbits in the world, both bunnys are always eager for food and have no trouble sharing, however, it seems to me that Poppy has lost quite a bit of weight.
I will be taking her to the vets on Saturday to have her teeth checked but I'm wondering if it could just be Peter is eating more than her, has anyone else experienced this problem? I did try feeding her some pellets by herself this evening to try and start bulking her up a bit but she wouldn't concentrate without Peter next to her (she started eating again when I let him eat too).I think he eats quicker than her so probably gets to eat more.
She is a bit of nightmare when it comes to eating to be honest because she flatly refuses to eat hay (she would rather starve) so it's only veg or pellets. I don't like to give her too many pellets but I don't want to over-do the veg either!!
Sorry for the long post, just really wondering if anybody has experienced anything similar (of course, it could all be her teeth).
