• Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What can I do?

Hello, where I am from it’s almost impossible to get a vet for a bunny here, all I can do is search for help online.
My bunny got hit by a bike and she broke her upper front tooth, along with that she’s tilting her head to the side and drooling from her mouth, it worries me more because she is barely eating or drinking anything, I really need remedies on anything that could help please

You really need veterinary care. Where are you? Maybe someone can help suggest a vet.
Benin city, I’ve tried searching all over the internet but nigerians don’t domestic bunnies…my bunny hasn’t eaten anything in two days

I'm really sorry to hear of your bunnies accident. in a case as severe as this I'd visit any vet, experienced in rabbits or not. They would still be able to assess her for broken bones, have her put to sleep if it turns out she has no way of eating & is in pain. A rabbit can't cope with eating nothing so the situation is already critical

I agree she needs vet care. She will need meds for pain and inflammation. There must be more going on than a broken front tooth for her to stop eating and have a head tilt. Sending lots of positive vibes for you and your bunny.

. There is nothing you can do without access to prescription medications.

I’ve contacted, they are closed on Sundays so I took her to a vet in another city but
unfortunately I have to put her to sleep, this is the most hurtful thing I’ve ever had to face…she got worse over the hours and started bleeding I can’t watch her go through all that pain

I am very sorry 😢

I am so very sorry for your loss. Letting her go so she did not suffer was an act of kindness. You must have loved her very much.
When you are able, you are welcome to write a tribute on the forum's rainbow bridge section so we can learn more about your life with her.

I'm so very sorry, you definitely did the kindest thing for her, hard though it must have been. Sweet dreams little bunny x

That's a tough situation. A broken tooth and head tilt can both be serious in rabbits. It's crucial that you get her to a vet as soon as possible, even if it means traveling a distance. In the meantime, make sure she has plenty of fresh water and try offering her soft, easy-to-eat foods like baby food or critical care formula. You can find these at most pet stores.
Just remember, online advice is no substitute for professional veterinary care.
