We got a new friend meet Peter

bunny momma

Wise Old Thumper
Meet Peter. He is a Chestnut Netherland Dwarf who we picked up monday, evening, Aug 12.
He was born in May 2023. He is currently upstairs in a cage quarantined from my lionheads.
These photos were taken late Tuesday just before cleaning and are dark. Monday night I was starting to be worried he only made a few poos, yet as you can see from the evidence that is not an issue.😂 He has a nightlight so he looks like he has a halo. 😍. He has his first litterbox too.

At 3am I checked him and he has not made poo since I changed his fleece a few hours ago. He may just need time to reload! The solid floor with soft fleece is an upgrade for him so he may be a little confused. Even though he was not bonded, he was around other bunnies since he was born so this is new for him too.

Hello little cutie ❤️ Peter is a good name for a little boy bunny. He's a super colour.

I wouldn't get too concerned about his pooing at the moment. He's probably just getting used to his new home.

Thank you for easing my mind.

I was used to bunnies who would jump in the litterbox and make poo to claim it as soon as the box was cleaned, yet Peter waits to poo .
He also does not come running for pellets, probably because he was getting lots of them so they wete always available. This is a big difference from Amber and Zorro. Zorro answers to the name pellet!😀

Peter grunted and charged at me when I reached in his area for cleaning. He then let me pick him up to put him on the chair while I finished the nighttime cleanout of his area. Afterwards he sat on my lap for some pets.
He lets my spouse reach in his area to give him head and ear pets without incident. Spouse is like a bunny magnet!

You chose well then. Eddy gets a bit territorial & lunges sometimes, when he is under one of his beds; not so much with me but with Bob
