Re: a little update.

Whilst this is rabbit oriented thread, I'd first like to say I'm sorry I've been less active on here following the loss of Bertie. I am acutely aware I have not posted a tribute to Bertie yet. I am working on something suitable but I also need to be in the right headspace to do it. Bertie was a special rabbit for us here and I'm still struggling with the loss on top of the other issues.
However, I did say this was bunny related. Whilst not wanting to sound as if I am disrespecting the memory of Bertie, we have been acutely aware of the impact this has had on Flo. She rarely goes outside now and sits with us more these last few weeks. She has we feel, accepted Bertie is not coming back but she probably cannot process why.
So we have found a new companion for Flo and they are both presently at a bonding specialist who is taking charge of the bonding process. I will of course post some photos when I get chance (presently on lunch at work). And I will introduce our new bunny when we get both flo and new bun next week.
His name is Herbie. He is a pure white lionhead with amazing blue eyes. I found him at a rescue centre who rescued him from being the next meal for a python. Sadly this sort of thing is not uncommon. He has been at the centre since last year - apparently no one wants white rabbits with blue eyes. Which makes me sad. So he will be our new companion for Flo. He is a ball of floofness and after less than a day has already made Flo feel better. Updates i have had have been very positive so I'm keeping everything crossed. I've deep cleaned our house and made sure that everything is nice and clean for their return.
I will try to post some photos later tonight.

Good to hear from you, Craig, and you have nothing to apologise for - with what you have and are continuing to go through.

I am delighted to see that Flo is to have a new companion. Herbie is one very lucky bunny! x

I agree with Babsie, no apologies needed. That is so lovely that you have found it in your hearts to get Flo a companion, and fingers and paws crossed here that all goes well. Herbie sounds gorgeous, and yes he is a very lucky bunny xx

It can take time to write a tribute for a special bunny like Bertie, even without all the other issues you have been processing this past year. We know gow much you and your family loved him.

It is wonderful that you found Flo a friend. Herbie is a gorgeous bunny with his long mane and his piercing blue eyes. I do not know why he was not adopted as soon as his paws hit the floor at the rescue. Lucky Flo, you, an especially lucky Herbie!

Sending tons of bonding vibes.

Super news ❤️ Herbie is very lovely. Is he young as he looks quite tiny. I don't know why, but his appearance makes me think of a Gandalf. Was there a bunny on here called Gandalf, who looked similar to Herbie? Great that Flo is pleased with him. Will be lovely for you and Jan to have a pair of bunnies cuddling up to each other again.

Sending loads of good wishes for when they return home. We will then expect updates though

No apologies nor explanations necessary. With everything you've been going through it's got to be so difficult to think of daily things, much less something like writing or posting.
Herbie is gorgeous! Hoping for a smooth bond for him and Flo and that he turns out to be a true "Love Bug." ❤️
I can't tell you how very badly I wish I could bring home another small dog since Jenna's passing. It's really quite impossible though. I'm glad to see you've opened your hearts to another bun in need. 🥰

What a beautiful looking rabbit Herbie is. So glad for you all. I really hope the bonding goes smoothly.

He is the image of my lovely rabbit Daisy (rip). She was a lionhead cross of some kind and verrry beautiful too.
