Rabbit chewing on other rabbit

I have a 5yr neutered male and a 3yr spayed female. They were already bonded when I adopted them and I've had them for about half a year. My female has had a habit of trying to chew on my male rabbit's nails, but he wouldn't let it happen and I didn't see any obvious damage on the toenails so I didn't do anything about it. However, today I saw the female rabbit licking on the male rabbit's tail, which turned out to be bleeding, and I'm pretty sure it was from the female chewing it. I don't think it's a sign of aggression as they get along very well with lots of grooming and cuddling. I also doubt it is a stress behavior as they have a relatively large exercise pen, plenty of toys (chewing/treat dispensing), two hide boxes, and I see them binky everyday. I honestly feel like the female just does it out of curiosity or likes the texture, but it's obviously injuring the male and I'm not sure how to stop it. Has anyone encountered this behavior before or know how to fix it?
