Overweight bun

My bum is the most loving ever. However she is very overweight. It has taken forever to find a hay that she will eat, and even with this she pokes through it to find the strands she likes. She has very few nuggets as I was aware their high calorie content. She has fresh herbs from the garden, a small sprig of rosemary, a couple of thyme, a few dandelion leaves, a few pieces of parsley, lavender stalks. From the fridge she only likes watercress and cavelo nero.
My other concern is that her caecatrophs stick to her fur, and because of her bulk she is unable to clean herself properly and she hates me doing because of the position I need her to be in so I can do it. My plan is to shave the area and use something on her skin to prevent them sticking. Help and advice please

Keep doing what you are doing - more hay, fewer pellets

Shaving her bum will help to keep it clean and dry. Damp, dirty fur causes sore skin, so you may want to look at some cream in case the skin looks inflamed (eg a thin smear of sudocreme). Also try to figure out what's causing excess caecotrophs and cut that out. Prime suspects are the pellets and cabbage (cavalo nero). Herbs, hay and dandelion are fine.
