Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
this is starbuck and costa, they were from accidental litters both male. They are currently 7 weeks old. You were all so helpful with my other rabbits dexter and Bucky. They are in the house in a hutch at the moment, will be moving to the hutch and run outside when a bit bigger. I’ve never had rabbits this young, what age do you usually vaccinate and neuter young rabbits? There currently fed on Wagg bunny pellets and hay, what would you recommend to feed young rabbits? Many thanks Ali xx

I did comment on there age, unfortunately they’d already sold the Mum the day before, I just wanted to give these two a decent home. I’ve no plans to change the food, from eating solids they apparently love lettuce, I’m not planning on giving them that -regardless! I’ll give the vets a call on Monday- thank you.

Oh no I’m so very sorry thinking of you and sending hugs xx
Sorry to ask, but we’re they vaccinated? I would suggest a vet check on Costa and get him vaccinated against Vhd1/ VHD2 (Filavac) if he’s not been done already, then the other vaccine for myxomatosis 2 weeks later, which also covers VHD1. If you haven’t had a PM done and don’t know why he died, it’s advisable to have him cremated rather than buried. Sorry if this appears insensitive xx
