I've not used a cone on a cat after neutering. They usually leave the wound alone.

They don't usually, especially with castration, but he was messing with it a lot at the vets so theyve send extra painkillers home and said to keep the cone on.

Ours were both sent home with a medical suit - looks very funny on a fluffy cat lol, but less restrictive than a cone at least.
