I have posted about Betsy’s abscesses.
She had a check up at the vets today. Abscesses are all clear and her fur is growing back. She is now cleaning herself but she has skin folds that I never noticed (I have to do fairly quick cleans as she is not happy if I wipe her) so she had a thorough cleaning by the vet nurse.
There is still a large lump in her lower abdomen. Without tests and due to the fact that it is larger than when she last went, it most likely is a tumour.
It doesn’t cause her pain when touched. She is eating, pooing, hopping about and doing little binkies so I think she is ok at the moment, vet has said to keep an eye on her and take her back if anything changes.
She will be 9 in august. Because of the location we have decided it’s too risky to operate.
So I just keep her comfortable for now. Watch for any abscesses recurring, check her bottom and make sure she is happy.
I haven’t had to deal with this before my other bunnies have all gone down hill fairly suddenly so a decision has had to be made on the spot. How do I know when it’s time?
