Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
I'm so glad she's feeling betterJust came down to check on the buns. There is a sea of poop, but not sure who's is who's. But she ate some treats straight away and seems lively.
Archie is chasing her cos she smells funny, but OH can keep an eye on them today and her poop output
Just edited my post. I'm obviously still sleep deprived. They don't have yeast in. I've obviously gone bananas.I’m glad she is back to normal now, it must have been very scary for you I’ve not fed the papaya tablets before so I don’t know about those, nor have I fed anything with yeast in, that I’m aware so I’m not sure on that.
Thanks bunny momma. I must admit I laughed to when they phoned me back to say she just used the litter tray. HahahaYou did nothing to make her feel poorly, so please do not feel bad. On the contrary, your prompt actions and taking her to the vet twice when you would have normally been sleeping tells me you are a wonderful mom to your fur baby.
I laughed that she did not want to poo at the vets. While most of my bunnies are litter trained (Gemini lost his training when he was ill) some poos always manage to escape.
Me and my bunnies are sending you, Pip and Arthur some stay well vibes.
Pip reminds me of a child who does not want to poo while at school to avoid teasing. Thanks bunny momma. I must admit I laughed to when they phoned me back to say she just used the litter tray. Hahaha
