Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
thank You all. Its good news, we have just arrived home with our precious little grumpy chops. It was indeed dental time, her spur had cut in to her gum. xrays pretty much the same which we're happy about. There is still a bit of infection where her teeth went missing but much less & not a big concern as its free draining. Joeys giving her loves now. Apologies for the delay in updating. She was late in to theatre, we didn't leave the vets til 7.30pm. The long journey was a lot longer than usual through road closures & having a stop to cool down.
I spent most of the day in the run down cemetary necxt to the vets - it was very peaceful. Wandered in to town too.
She looks a bit sorry for herself Not eating much at all (but did have 7pm syringe feed at vet) . She has had her metacam, zantac & domperidone. OH is lying on the floor fanning her. Last night we awoke to found her loafing on his pillow. If I had better pillows she'd have loafed on mine
Thank You all for asking. I checked on her at 4am & she seemed hungry - ate some forage. I've not long been up - OH said she ate her breakfast, she was chewing on branches when I came down, ate some dandelions, cucumber & is now cuddle snoring with mouse. I'd say on balance she does seem a bit quieter. Her teeth are a tiny bit squeaky
XD I can just imagine! Mouse grabbing some frozen socks and throwing them XDBoo seems to like this but Mouse doesn't like this & so is hell bent on trying to evict such items from the cuddle zone
It feels comfortable to me inside but then I'm not a bunny in a big fur coat. I've been dampening cotton items, popping them in a plastic bag & freezing them til they go crunchy (perhaps 30-60mins depending on the size). Boo seems to like this but Mouse doesn't like this & so is hell bent on trying to evict such items from the cuddle zone
