Peanut Butter has a problem...

maybe there is, maybe there isnt. its so frustrating not being there with him.

i dont even know if hes behavour is the same, mum says it is but she doesnt know him like i do. i guess ill find out when i go home.
 
well... a glimmer of hope arrived today in the post in the form of a cheque from PET PLAN!!

They paid out!! Im sooooooo HAPPY!! we didnt think they would as he suffered from sore hocks prior to his abcess but they said its a different condition so theyve sent us a cheque for £240! also..anything he needs from now will DEFINATLY be covered as its part of the same treatment..YAY!

Now i know 100% we can afford to do everything he needs!
 
Oh that's such good news, it must be such a weight off your mind :) I really hope the specialist can give you a glimmer of good news xxx
 
we would have done everything we could but at least now i dont have to be stressed at how much this is all going to cost for me and my mum, at least now we can do what peanut needs.

She has said she is completly against leg amputation so hopefully the specialist can give some hope for us.

im NOT losing my boy. i refuse!
 
I'm really sorry to hear about Peanut Butter. :( I hope something can be done for him - you must be really upset.

It's great though if Petplan are going to cover the costs - that's one less thing to worry about. :)
 
i just cant stop thinking about it. Its Peanut, he cant die. He just cant, hes so special and it warms my heart to know that (prob cus i post wayyy too much!) you all care about him so much, and i know that..you all would be genuinly upset if i lost him.

I just cant believe i could lose my boy over a sore hock, its so STUPID. and unfair.

i cant lose him, it will break my heart
 
I had to have Mummy Pumpkin pts just before Xmas with infected feet - not quite the same thing as there was no real external evidence as she had very furry feet and hocks. Mummy P was a conti, and because of this, the vet and I decided it would be kinder to pts. If she hadn't been a conti, I would have given long term nursing a try, but not sure whether it would have worked.
Advice I can give is that you know your rabbit, and you have to do the best for him - whatever happens you don't want him getting an abscess though!

Mum bought him some cabbage and broccoli from the market yesterday, shes proper spoiling him :love:

but i dont know what the future holds for him. i really dont.

peanuts got his vet check today at 6pm. She is going to refer him to the specialist tonight and hopefully he will go from wednesday next week as i am home from wednesday until sunday.

I am trying to be optimistic, i really really hope there is good news today.

please send vibes for my gorgeous boy please. im sure they help

thanks hun. i cant imagine losing him. i wont let it happen. i just can't.

he will get everything he needs, ill make sure of it. my beautiful Jelly cant lose her husbun yet.
 
I've just seen and read this thread. If there is anything I can do to help your mum and Peanut when you're at uni let me know, ok?

donna- theres no more fluid inside his hock. but his dressing kept coming off, now hes stopped chewing it, n it stays on it hasnt filled up with fluid.

so it could be a case of keeping the leg raised, or it could be that it will fill up with fluid in a few days.

nothing is really much clearer tbh!

thanks! its hard to tell whats happening at the moment, while today didnt go badly it doesnt make anything clearer, so things could still goeither way.

fingers crossed though!
